The perfect cup of Ceylon black tea
3 min read · By the Ellara Ceylon team

Great tea needs very little equipment. Pay attention to three things.
- Water: start with fresh, cold water and bring it just to the boil, about 95 to 100 C.
- Leaf: use 1 teaspoon (about 2 g) per 200 ml cup.
- Time: steep for 3 to 4 minutes, then remove the leaves.
Warm your cup or pot first. Longer than five minutes risks bitterness. Add milk after brewing, or a slice of lemon, or drink it plain.
Higher-grown teas often taste lighter and more delicate; lower-grown teas tend to be darker and stronger. Taste a few and find your favorite.
