Meet Ceylon Silver Tips, the island's rarest tea
4 min read · By the Ellara Ceylon team

Silver Tips is a white tea made only from the unopened terminal buds of the tea bush. The buds are covered in fine silver hairs, which give the tea its name.
It is handmade in very small quantities, a tiny fraction of the island's total tea crop, which is why it is rare and priced accordingly.
How to brew it
- Use about 2 g per cup.
- Heat water to 75 to 80 C, not boiling.
- Steep for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Re-steep two or three times; each infusion is a little different.
The cup is pale gold, silky and honeyed with a clean finish. Drink it plain and slowly.
